hot javascript

I know it might be a little hard to believe, but I know next to nothing about Javascript. I’ve survived with using commonly-used or other peoples’ scripts to get by.

I’ve also noted that in many jobs that I have applied for in the past couple of months require a working knowledge of Javascript.

Put one and one together, and… well, I signed up for a distance learning class in Javascript last night as a late add, and now I have been cramming all night to make tomorrow’s deadline for the first batch of assignments. Oy.

I hope that this strengthens my geek cred just a little bit more. ^_^;;

Tomorrow is Free Wi-Fi day nationwide and even internationally. Locally, you can find many Hotels, Mickey D’s, Starborks, and many small cafés participating. There’s even a festival (PDF link) going on in The City.

Gentlemen (and ladies), start your engines.

So, how many .mac users are out there, and how many are continuing to use the service to its full potential?

I am a .mac user, but I haven’t really used my membership a while lot over the past months. I use the e-mail address, but I already have plenty of addresses. I have used my iDisk a few times, and I’ve iSynced only a couple of times.

Maybe it’s time that I was realistic and iDiscontinue. My membership is up in less than a month. So unless someone can convince me otherwise (it’s gotta be a really good reason), I’m going to let it lapse. I don’t think I’d be missing much… or would I?

So summer is supposed to be over officially on this Tuesday, 23 Sept.

Tell me why it has been so friggin’ hot this weekend? The National Weather Serivce claimed that it climbed up to 97 in our area today. I tell ya, I am *so* ready for autumn to be here.

And it’s unfair that SoCal has apparently had nicer weather this weekend. It’s just… unheard of.

update 9/22: Word is that it’s supposed to reach 105 today! argh!

Let's get lost together!

More on my trip to Japan, 8 Sept 2003…

On this particular Monday, we had the day set aside to visit the Studio Ghibli Museum in Mitaka. It was a nice, uncrowded train ride to Mitaka, where we discovered the special bright yellow bus, adorned with Ghibli characters, to take us to the museum.

The museum was definitely something out of the whimiscal animated movies that Ghibli produces. Set within the lush, green setting of Inokashira Park, it seemed as if the museum was part of a garden… a living, breathing thing.

“Let’s get lost together!” exclaims the informational pamphlet we received from the front desk… and so it began.
